Kazaviti (Mikro & Megalo)

If you follow the left road in the crossroad of Prinos and in a distance of 4 klm, you will reach the first Kazaviti, the so called Mikro Kazaviti (Small Prinos). 500 m after that lays Megalo Kazaviti (Big Prinos). They are definitely the most traditional little villages built in a hills’ slope, inside a dale. Unfortunately, today a lot of houses have been abandoned by the local people who left for finding jobs and better life in the lowlands of the island or ever further away.

Kinira

Kinira village is one of the most beautiful islands of Eastern Thasos. Its name is well known from the ancient years. The wider region is full of ancient findings of the archaic and Roman period. Due to many springs that are spread all over the near slops the Vegetation is very dense.

Kalirachi-Skala Kalirachi

Kalirachi is one of the oldest villages in Thassos. The highland Kalirachi was built when the inhabitants left the old village “Kaki Rachi” during the years when the pirates’ threat was eliminated. It is situated in a beautiful site on a hills’ slope, among olive trees. The houses are built according to the traditional Thassian architecture, where most characteristic are the narrow serpentine streets of the village (in which you can hardly pass by car), ideal for walking. It is definitely one of the most picturesque villages on Thassos.

Theologos

The history of Theologos begins from ancient times. A settlement and a necropolis where discovered on the route between Potos and Theologos, dated before the settling of the Parians on the island (before the 8th century A.D.).

Thimonia

Thimonia is a hamlet situated to the southeast part of the island. It belongs to the precinct of Theologos district. In Thimonia you can see the remains of a Byzantine temple. Also you can visit the two towers of the Helenistic era, the first one is circular with internal diameter of 15m and it is located in the middle of a small vale.

The essential point of view in this part of the island is the small beaches that are wedged to the sheer hills. To the tip of those hills you can visit the monastery of Archangel Michael who is the guardian angel of the whole island of Thassos.

Kastro

The traditional settlement rouses from the lethargy for few days only celebrating the memory of St. Athanassios. The messages of protection and ecotourist development haven't arrived here yet...
